Employment Committee

 

The role of the Employment Committee is to:

  • appoint and dismiss Chief & Deputy Chief Officers as defined in the Officer Employment Procedure Rules, and determine terms and conditions of employment
  • make recommendations to Combined Authority on the appointment and dismissal of the Monitoring Officer, S151 Officer and the Chief Executive
  • determine employment procedures, including dismissal procedures
  • determine local terms and conditions of employment for employees

 

Members of the committee

The membership of the Employment Committee is as follows:

Mayor James Palmer - Chair of the committee
Councillor Robin Howe - Deputy Mayor (Statutory) and Vice-chair of the committee
Councillor John Holdich - Deputy Mayor (Constitutional)
Councillor Lewis Herbert - Portfolio Holder for Strategic Planning
Two other members of the Combined Authority Board.

 

The quorum is two-thirds of the committee (four members).

The terms of reference for the Employment Committee can be found in the September Combined Authority Board papers.

The Employment Committee agreed at their March meeting that they would set up an Employment Sub Committees to consider and appoint to vacant Director positions.
