A new national housing agency – Homes England – has today (11 January 2018) been launched by Housing Secretary Sajid Javid as one of the key steps towards delivering the homes the country needs.
Today (11/01/2017) the Secretary of State for Transport, the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, visited Queen Adelaide to discuss the proposed works to Ely North junction.The busy junction sees five railway lines intersect to connect Norwich and King's Lynn to Cambridge, Cambridge to London and Ipswich to the Midlands.
“It is important that we provide leadership and act urgently and decisively to restore trust, including that of the wider business community and central Government” said James Palmer, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough today, in a letter to the GCGP Local Enterprise Partnership after it was revealed that Central Government is withholding growth funding secured for the area whilst the National Audit Office undertakes an investigation into the LEP.
Cambridge’s newest rail station is already helping to speed up journeys for commuters into and out of the city less than two months after opening.
