The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, led by Mayor James Palmer, along with Voi Technology, the U.K.’s leading e-scooter operator, will launch its e-scooter trial in Cambridge City Centre this Thursday, 15 October.
In a bid to improve the health of the region, ease congestion and improve air quality, Mayor James Palmer is funding over 80 new improvements to cycle lanes, walkways, roundabouts, and changes to traffic flow to get more people out of their car and walking and cycling.
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, led by Mayor James Palmer, is to become the first region in the country to roll out e-bikes and e-scooters to the public, offering the potential for fast, clean and inexpensive travel that can help to ease congestion on the roads and transport networks, reduce pollution and allow for social distancing.
As Cambridge and Peterborough get ready to raise the shutters and welcome shoppers and visitors back to city centres and high streets from Monday, Mayor James Palmer has praised the behind-scenes teams for their heroic effort.
