Delivering for Our Region: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough’s Spending Plans for 2025
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has published its draft Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP), laying out a bold vision for the region that balances investment in essential services with affordability for residents.
Key highlights include:
- Protecting affordable bus travel: The hugely popular Tiger Pass, offering £1 bus fares for under-25s, will continue, alongside efforts to keep fares as low as possible for all passengers.
- Championing heritage and culture: A significant boost in support for the region’s history, heritage, and cultural attractions.
- Investing in skills and infrastructure: Action to help residents improve their skills and qualifications, alongside targeted funding for infrastructure improvements.
- Building climate resilience: Investment in energy efficiency measures to help residents and businesses save on energy costs and reduce carbon footprints.
Importantly, the Combined Authority is delivering these ambitious plans while freezing the general mayoral precept at its current level – £3 a month for the average Band D household.
The publication of the MTFP follows a detailed consultation process, and the Combined Authority extends its thanks to everyone who shared their views.
