Paul Bristow reaction to expected Cambridge South train frequency
In response to the news released by Network Rail today that the new Cambridge South station is expected to have a full service when it opens in early 2026, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Paul Bristow, said:
“This is a big step forward in getting Cambridgeshire and Peterborough moving. Cambridge South is a game-changer, with up to nine trains per hour, it unlocks real potential for our region. Being able to get a train to work or to medical appointments on the Biomedical Campus will make a huge difference for a lot of people’s lives. It’s exactly the kind of infrastructure we need to support jobs, growth, and opportunity across our region.”
