Peter Cushing

Peter has gained significant experience working with senior local and central government bodies delivering major capital programmes in the UK and overseas most notably as Metrolink Director in Manchester and Midland Metro Alliance Director in Birmingham leading teams of planning, design, engineering, construction and operations specialists to build and operate new tram extensions across the GMCA and WMCA regions.

Previously, he was founding CEO of the Light Rail Safety and Standards Board on behalf of UKTram, ORR and DfT and has wider experience as a non-exec director. Peter also has 25 years rail/light rail national and international experience, working on behalf of private and public sector organisations in addition to over 20 years wider experience in the logistics industry running large multi-disciplined teams.
