We have worked with engineering companies Howden Turbo and Baker Perkins and the College of West Anglia to develop an intensive Skills Bootcamps course giving learners the skills they need for a career in the industry.
Run by College of West Anglia at their Wisbech campus, it is free for learners and is expected to last about 10 weeks. A further incentive is the opportunity of an interview with Baker Perkins or Howden Turbo for their apprenticeship opportunities in 2024.
Baker Perkins and Howden Turbo will also be offering learners a site visit to their Peterborough premises for further insight to the business, job opportunities and apprenticeships on offer.

Skills Bootcamps are focused courses lasting up to 16 weeks, giving learners the skills they need to find new jobs or advance in a career. Employers can get up to 90% off the cost of Skills Bootcamps to upskill their staff. They are funded by the Department of Education and developed locally by the Combined Authority, working with colleges and training providers.
