Local Remediation Acceleration Plan (LRAP)

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has approved the Local Remediation Acceleration Plan (LRAP) for the region, following its presentation to the Board on 23 July.

The LRAP sets out a strategic approach to speeding up the remediation of buildings with fire safety issues, particularly those identified in the wake of national building safety reviews.
It has been developed collaboratively with local councils, the Fire and Rescue Service, and the Local Resilience Forum.
It aims to accelerate building remediation across the region. While the number of buildings requiring remediation in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is lower than in some other areas, the key challenge lies in securing the necessary capacity and resources to progress the work at pace.

To support this, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has awarded funding to the area.
This funding is enabling the Combined Authority and its partners, including the Fire and Rescue Service, to bring in the expertise needed to implement the plan effectively.
This coordinated approach will drive greater focus and momentum in building remediation efforts across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
It also ensures that all partners are working from a shared set of data and towards common objectives, reinforcing a unified and streamlined response under the new CSS (Cladding Safety Scheme) National Remediation System.
