Covid-19: support for businesses – updated 16 April 2020

New Government Business Support Hub

The new Government Business Support Hub contains information for sole traders and the self employed as well as business in general. It is updated as soon as new information and news happens and brings together all the help and financial support available in one place.

CBI Coronavirus Business Hub and webinars
The CBI has a dedicated Coronavirus Hub with a series of information and help available to business. It includes a daily update from CBI Director-General, Dame Carolyn Fairbairn and other information and insight.

There’s a daily webinar which is viewable live or after the event featuring a series of high-profile participants adding their insights on the effects on business and ways to mitigate the impacts.

Federation of Small Businesses support and webinars

As well as providing a hub of information on coronavirus for small businesses, the FSB is also running regular free webinars. You can register for the next webinar on Friday (April 17) at 2pm and is about the ongoing business support available from the FSB. Previous webinars are available on demand.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) hub

A new hub containing guidance on personal protective equipment (PPE), and infection prevention and control (IPC) is now available, containing information for both health and social care settings and other workers and sectors.

The hub also links to the cross-government UK-wide PPE plan to ensure that critical PPE is delivered to those on the frontline. This includes a new ‘Make’ strategy of encouraging UK manufacturers to produce PPE. Manufacturers can check they meet the required specifications for use by the NHS and care sector. New offers can continue to be made via www.gov.uk/coronavirus-support-from-business.
