Construction of the improvements at Ely’s Lancaster Way Roundabout is scheduled to start on February 1st after planners adapted the scheme to include suggestions from the public about how the layout could be improved for pedestrians and cyclists as well as for motorists.
Thanks to a ‘virtual road-trip’ which went live this week, people can have their say on the shortlist of options being considered to improve the Ely-Cambridge stretch of the A10, despite Covid-19 safeguards restricting public gatherings.
Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough James Palmer has welcomed news that the Combined Authority’s bids to dual the A10 between Cambridge and Ely and to build a new road junction to facilitate the new University of Peterborough, have been submitted to Government.
The key next steps to dual the A10 between Ely and Cambridge will be presented to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Board next week.The Board will be recommended to carry out a Strategic Outline Business Case (SOBC) study for the dualling scheme.
