Location: TBC (initially home based as per Government guidance) 
Salary: £27,041
Hours: Full Time (9-5pm) 
Contract: Fixed term to June 2023

An Exciting opportunity has arisen in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Growth Co.

Growth Co will act as a funding and contracting vehicle to procure the private sector to deliver growth coaching, skills brokering and inward investment promotion as well as managing an allocated amount of Local Growth Fund finance which may be used as grant or equity investment for businesses in the area. Through Growth Co, the Business Growth Service is a key part of the CPCA Local Industrial Strategy. This inclusive growth strategy is designed to shift more of our future growth into a wider economy and diversify our economic base to mitigate the place concentration risks to our economy. Over the last few years CPCA has become well known for our distinctive and innovative approach in the Business Growth and Skills arena and is respected as an organisation which is going places - and this isn’t stopping any time soon! Due to the huge pressure that COVID-19 19 has had on the economy, the launch of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Growth Co and the Business Growth service has come at an opportune time to address the further challenges on Business and Skills sector, enabling business, workers and learners to rebound quickly and generate new growth.

Job Summary

  • To provide support to the Senior Programme Manager in the coordination of the delivery of the ERDF Funded Growth Coaching Grants and Inward Investment Service project to completion in September 2023
  • To provide support to the Growth Coaching Grants and Inward Investment ERDF project/contract team

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assisting the Senior Programme Manager through the organisation and control of project processes, to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the service and compliance with European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) requirements
  • Inputting and maintaining contact and project records, ensuring appropriate audit trails and evidence meets the ERDF requirements
  • Supporting internal and external colleagues to undertake contact and project management tasks
  • Working with sub-contractors and stakeholders to ensure funding and outputs are maximised
  • Maintaining Management Information Systems (financial and non-financial) and providing regular reports to the Senior Programme Manager, Growth Co and CPCA  Business Board and funders where applicable
  • Ensuring timely and accurate claims are made, undertaking project performance monitoring, and providing monthly reports to the Senior Programme Manager, Growth Co and CPCA Business Board and MCHLG
  • Working closely with the wider subcontracted delivery team, ensuring clear and effective marketing of the offer
  • Coordinating project and contract meetings and organising any events and workshops to support the project as required
  • In addition to the above areas of responsibility the position maybe required to undertake any other reasonable duties relating to the broad scope of the position

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Proven track record in providing successful coordination support to projects, preferably those supported with ERDF funding
  • Research and data analysis skills with the ability to create and maintain accurate project records and assimilate information
  • Knowledge of ERDF funding requirements including reporting and appraisal systems (desirable) 
  • The ability to work effectively with others as a competent team member and coordinator to achieve project targets
  • Experience of problem-solving and implementing process improvements in a coordination environment
  • The ability to work under pressure effectively and meet strict deadlines
  • Prior experience of working with sub-contractors
  • Qualified to A Level or equivalent standard of general education
