An exciting opportunity has arisen within the HR Team at the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority.

The Authority was established in March 2017 as a result of powers being devolved to it by Central Government most particularly in regard to securing major developments and improvements in respect of Transport, Housing, Education and Skills across the region with a vision to make Cambridgeshire and Peterborough the leading place in the world to learn, live and work.

Job Summary

To assist the HR team in delivering the HR, Payroll and admin function to the CPCA team by ensuring the systems, processes and policies are fit for purpose and providing HR guidance and administrative support. The role will also provide similar support in relation to the management of the office facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary administrative support to the human resource function of the Combined Authority. Ensure all digital, electronic and paper systems are kept secure and up to date
  • Keeping policies and procedures up to date
  • Assist with HR enquiries within and without the organisation and act as first response 
  • Assist with the recruitment process e.g. advertising roles, carrying out right to work checks, issuing invite letters, offer letters, employment contracts, organise and deliver induction process and exit processes
  • Payroll Administration
  • Maintain CPCA Establishment spreadsheet
  • Any other Adhoc administration duties as required by the CPCA
  • HR admin projects

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Good level of education, literate in English and Maths
  • Excellent understanding of office administration with the ability to understand the Combined Authority's agenda and workstream interdependencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the addition of excellent IT skills, in particular MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated, can work under pressure and deliver results
  • Attention to detail and high level or accuracy
  • Effective organisational skills

Experience

  • Direct experience of working in a HR Administrative role 1 year minimum
  • Experience of dealing with administrative tasks proactively and efficiently
  • Experience of working with a wide range of partners/stakeholders
