An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mayor’s Team at the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.
The Authority was established in March 2017 as a result of powers being devolved to it by Central Government most particularly in regard to securing major developments and improvements in respect of Transport, Housing, Education and Skills across the region with a vision to make Cambridgeshire and Peterborough the leading place in the world to learn, live and work.

Job Summary

The Cambridgeshire Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) is providing a unique opportunity for experiential learning for a period of 3 months. Interns will perform a variety of tasks which may include policy research and development, drafting communications, community engagement, administrative tasks, and research and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will support the Mayor’s office and Communications team, including the development of research briefs and critical messaging, as well as attending meetings with key stakeholders if required. Interns will provide policy and administrative support, including direct engagement with external stakeholders.

Candidates should be professional, organised, discrete and efficient; be able to multitask well in a fast-paced environment; be eager to learn, listen, and grow throughout the internship; and be committed to public service in the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough area. Successful appointees will mostly work from home with attendance in the Mayor’s office in Ely 1-2 times a week, so strong self-motivation and communication skills are vitally important.
This role is suited to those interested in a career in politics, policymaking and lobbying.
