Salary Range:  £25,481 - £27,041
Hours: Full Time
Contract: Permanent

An exciting opportunity for a Programme Assistant has arisen at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.

The Authority was established in March 2017 as a result of powers being devolved to it by Central Government most particularly in regard to securing major developments and improvements in respect of Transport, Housing, Education and Skills across the region with a vision to make Cambridgeshire and Peterborough the leading place in the world to learn, live and work.

Job Purpose

Responsible for carrying out the Programme Management Office (PMO) function in support of the Programme Manager with the objective of ensuring that the portfolio of all agreed programmes/priorities identified in the Business Plan are delivered using a best practice approach to deliver agreed outcomes and devolution commitments and safeguard the CA’s investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the successful implementation of the CA's programme delivery approach (aligned to the CA Assurance Framework) to provide programme assurance and safeguard the CA's investments
  • Operate programme monitoring and reporting across all the CA's programmes; including - programme plans, resources, risks and issues, budget spend and cashflow projections; funding agreements
  • Support programme delivery and assurance for the portfolio agreed programmes/priorities in liaison with CA Programme/Project Managers, Delivery Partners (for commissioned activity) 
  • Ensure the CA'S corporate requirements are consistently met, including business planning, programme delivery, performance management and budget monitoring
  • Support programme monitoring and reporting for the portfolio of agreed programmes/priorities
  • Adherence to CA's' assurance framework in all programmes and activity
  • Direct support to Programme Manager and Director of Delivery & Strategy
