The opportunity and the context

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Energy Project Manager to help accelerate the delivery of net zero objectives across the public sector estate. This is a fixed-term opportunity until 31st September 2026, offering the chance to lead impactful low carbon energy projects that support sustainable growth, investment, and job creation.

Reporting into the Net Zero Programme Lead within the Net Zero Hub, you’ll work collaboratively with stakeholders across local authorities, government agencies, industry bodies, and academia.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of investable local energy and decarbonisation projects
  • Lead feasibility studies and business case development to support investment decisions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector bodies and other stakeholders
  • Support grant funding applications and identify solutions to delivery barriers
  • Represent the Hub at local and regional levels, sharing best practice and innovation
What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
  • Strong knowledge of energy technologies and Net Zero policy
  • Proven experience in project and contract management, ideally in energy delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to produce professional reports and presentations for varied audiences
