THE NET ZERO HUB

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority are helping to accelerate the delivery of clean local net zero projects.

We are proud to be an active member of the Greater South East Net Zero Hub, one of five regional Energy Hubs in England.

Net Zero Hubs aim to provide local capacity support to bring investment into local, low-carbon net zero infrastructure projects and make strategic links between local institutions.

The Greater South East Net Zero Hub works on behalf of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and their member Local Authorities to support the development and financing of local net zero projects.

There are 11 LEPs in the Greater South East and each LEP has produced a Local Strategy that informs the work of the Net Zero Hub.

Working in collaborations with the Local Enterprise Partnerships, the core areas of work for the Net Zero Hub include:

  • Identifying local net zero projects in the region and any barriers to project development
  • Increasing the number, quality and scale of local, low-carbon net zero projects being delivered across the area
  • Sharing information, assisting collaboration and expanding the scale of projects
  • Raising local awareness of the opportunity for, and benefits of, local net zero investment
  • Enabling local areas to attract private and/or public finance

The Net Zero Hub team will work with stakeholders to develop a regional pipeline of priority projects. The team will also address common barriers to project development, to improve the conditions for local net zero projects to be successful.

If you would like further information, or have project information to share, please get in touch with the Net Zero Hub.
