The Combined Authority for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough have today agreed multi-million pounds of investment into transport improvement schemes in the region.
Ambitious plans to regenerate Wisbech with 10,000-12,000 homes over the next 40 years could move forward next week, if a £6.4 million funding bid is approved.
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority are set to agree funding worth £6.5million to accelerate the establishment of a University of Peterborough.
The Combined Authority for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will meet for the first time as an official body on Monday 20th March.The meeting will start at 2pm and will be held at The Boathouse Business Centre in Wisbech.
The Combined Authority for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is now an official body, after the Secretary of State, Sajid Javid, signed the Order to formally constitute it on Monday 6th March.
The body set up to manage devolution for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will meet for the last time as a ‘shadow’ authority on 22nd February, as they forge ahead with the formal launch of the new Combined Authority which is expected to be formally ratified in March.
The Shadow Combined Authority for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough has met for the second time (Tuesday 31st January) as more formal plans are put in place for the creation of the new body in the Spring.
