The Combined Authority has committed to spend £2.9m to improve cycle and pedestrian facilities across the region to get more people walking and cycling. These measures all form part of a broader vision from the Combined Authority for healthy and sustainable travel post Covid.

Why Active Travel?

A key component of the Local Transport Plan is the development and implementation of an Active Travel and Micro-mobility Strategy. It is imperative that the Authority builds on our current successes in relation to cycling, walking, equestrianism and the recently launched e-scooter trial in Cambridge.  The strategy will outline the key challenges and how the Authority aim to address these through the provision of a safe, well-maintained network that is seamlessly integrated into the transport network that provides a real alternative to the private car.

The Combined Authority has committed to spend £2.9m to improve cycle and walking facilities across the region to get more people using active travel modes.  These measures all form part of a broader vision from the Combined Authority for healthy and sustainable travel post Covid.
