Transport projects are highly complex and expensive to undertake, so it is vitally important that they follow clear procedures for project planning and delivery. You can find out a little more about some of the key stages that a project has to go through here.
How do Transport Projects Happen?
Transport and infrastructure projects take an incredible amount of planning and project management to succeed.
There are many different public bodies with many different requirements, and our transport and infrastructure team often need to ensure that we have fulfilled several different sets of requirements at the same time.
The overall plan for a project takes into account all of these stages, but one of the key project timelines is the stages laid out by the Treasury Green Book.
These stages also set out the points at which our projects come to the Combined Authority Committees and Board for decisions, and the release of funds to allow us to move to the next stage.
